Bogladen ved Søerne was originally established by R.W. Mariboe, in March 1889. Since then the business has had various owners and has evolved to be a charismatic and atmospheric bookstore. Many people know the store by its checkerboard floor, its high ebony shelves with fine pillar cuts and by its large and cozy basement, the walls of which over time have been the setting where many children and adults were presented to the wonderful and amazing universe of literature.
The bookstore is owned and managed today by Bookshops Kristian Krøyer, originally trained as a bookseller at Rosenkilde og Bagger on Kronprinsensgade. Kristian is very passionate about his profession and his books, no matter what kind of literature you ask for. We are looking forward to seeing you.
